and Flora of the Snake Range, an online key that can help you figure out what plants you might be seeing.
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI am writing to you from the small rural town of Snake Valley, located in the state of Victoria, Australia.
My reason for contacting you is that we share what I think is one of the most intriguing town names on the planet. Everybody from the city wants to know where it is. Well, just to bring you into the picture, ours has a populous of around 300-3000, depending who you ask, and comprises a primary school, pub(bar) and general store. Our nearest "city"(Ballarat, a gold- mining town) is about 30 klms away to the east.
I help put together a newsletter called the Snake Valley News, a little publication that simply aims to keep locals in the loop and minimise the isolation that sometimes accompanies rural living .
I was wondering if people from your Snake Valley would be interested in contributing to our Snake Valley newsletter(and vice versa) to start a kind of trans-global link with their southern namesakes?
It's a quirky idea, I accept, but wonder if it's not too corny for our northern neighbours to consider.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards,
David Johnson

Hi David,
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great idea! Send me an email at c_g_baker AT yahoo.com with your email address, and we'll see what we can do. A quick glance at the Internet showed that you also have some wonderful dark skies down there and similar issues as we do here.
Looking forward to learning more!
