The almost-full moon was spectacular rising over Snake Valley. As you can see, most of the snow has melted away--finally! Much of it came in December and then stuck around during the cold but fairly dry January.
The mountain is still plenty snowy, and the Wheeler Peak snotel (located near the Wheeler Peak campground at 10,147 feet elevation) shows that it snowed a few inches over the weekend, bringing the snow total to 59 inches--almost 5 feet of snow! You can find a link to the snotel site and lots of other great Snake Valley links on the new links page of Protect Snake Valley website.
